About

Hi there, we’re Shane and Brittany Geesler. We met in 2007 and started carving out a life together. We got married in 2019 and had our first boy in 2020. Two years later our hearts were filled with our second boy, and our family was complete.

I started my woodworking journey back in 2013, learning so much from the maker communities scattered throughout the internet, and things pretty much snowballed from there. This hobby quickly turned into a passion, and in 2018 I established The Rustic Goose Woodworking. Today my main focus is woodturning, but I love all aspects of the woodworking crafts, and I am constantly pursuing new knowledge and skillsets.

My wife Brittany found the art of needle felting as a hobby in 2018 and quickly discovered that she had a knack for it. As her skillset improved and her cute wool critters became more detailed, we decided to start to incorporate them into the business.

Living in the Adirondacks I have access to some amazing wood, and I am able to source most of the wood I use from local tree services and trees that have fallen in people yards and even on the side of the road. My goal is to up-cycle wood that would normally be left to rot on the ground or taken to a landfill and turn it into something beautiful to be enjoyed for many more years.
